Resort Information

A few miles down the road, the skiing holiday resort of El Tarter has grown over recent years and now offers high quality accommodation options conveniently located around a recently-built modern gondola and chairlift which access the Grandvalira area. Evenings are considerably quieter than neighbouring Soldeu. The free ski bus provides a frequent service linking all the ski resorts in Grandvalira area, including El Tarter and Soldeu.

On the Slopes:

Beginners (4star) - Soldeu & El Tarter is perfect for beginners and home to an award-winning ski school, obtaining our Marque of Excellence award yet again in 2009. Its mainly British instructors offer an excellent standard of tuition ensuring rapid progression. The gentle sunny slopes above the village, accessible via the gondola from the heart of Soldeu & El Tarter, are ideal for perfecting snowplough turns, before heading to wide open blue runs under the watchful eye of instructors.

Intermediates (4star) - Intermediate skiers will love the wide, open slopes above Soldeu & El Tarter. The red runs from Tossal de Llosada are quite demanding while there are more gentle runs on the Solana del Forn which can be enjoyed by the less confident. With the arrival of the long-awaited Grandvalira ski pass, intermediates have even more choice.

Advanced (3.5star) - With the right conditions, Soldeu & El Tarter can provide the expert skier with some great off-piste skiing. Advanced skiers may have previously found the area rather limiting, but with access to the combined Grandvalira ski area, there is a more extensive area to explore.

Snowboarding (3.5star) - Soldeu & El Tarter features a dedicated terrain park with half-pipe, jumps, bumps and a boarder-cross run. A wide variety of runs, coupled with a good snow record make Soldeu & El Tarter a great snowboarding destination. For beginners, a good choice of easy and intermediate runs, together with the professionalism of the board school, ensures it’s a great place to master the basics.
