General report for Andorran Ski Resorts

Thursday 23st February 2012

The heavy snow last week has left the ski areas in wonderful condition with some lovely soft snow off piste.

Fantastic skiing yesterday in the sun. It was cold overnight, the sun is already up and the forecast is for a sunny week getting warmer as the week progresses.

Roads are all open.

Lift passes

Always by your lift pass before you leave!

No it's not a sales ploy! You cannot buy them cheaper and some of them you can't even buy in resort! The learn to ski pack for instance which combines lift pass, lessons and equipement hire cannot be bought in resort and can save you a substancial amount. Talk to us for the best deal tailored for you.

Why are passes so expensive?

The money raised from lift pass sales funds not only the modern fast mountain transit systems but also security, paramedics, piste management and a host of other necessary things behind the scenes.

The queues in Andorra are generally small and monies are ploughed every year into expanding the lift capacities as well as carving new pistes out of the mountain. This year for instance there are several new pistes in the Grandvalira area and a whole new dedicated "off piste" area with 3 off piste runs opening up a whole new mountainside!

Lessons

Lessons are fun!

Lessons vary from those for first time beginners to elite classes. You can get lessons in different disciplines such as freestyle and cross country. Ski school prides itself on its Adaptive skiing program which adapts ski styles and equipment for most disabilities.

Choose elite classes to be pushed in difficult terrain or freestyle if you want to learn jumps, rails and spins!

The ski schools understand the value of being taught in your own language and you can be assured of fun and banter alongside the excellent quality of instruction. Meet friends to ski with during the week as well share apres ski tales with.
