Walk through the streets of this neighborhood accompanied by a local guide to show us not only the way to various touristic sites, but by being an interpreter of the heritage, culture and history that for more than 2000 years has been developing in this place, today considered one of the three largest cities in the world.
The Zócalo is in fact the third largest public square in the world and the heart of the city, is a monumental square surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, the Old Town Hall and other colonial buildings, where once arose also the monumental Aztec temples of Mexico - Tenochtitlan, there begins our walking tour through the historical center of Mexico City.
Right there where the Aztecs once founded their city the year 1325, where the Spanish erected in the sixteenth century the Cathedral and the Viceregal Palace of the New Spain until the nineteenth century when in 1821 there was signed the Independence of Mexico, an independence that was compromised twice in the nineteenth century with the U.S. intervention in the city and later the empire of Maximilian of Hapsburg, events of which the Zocalo and surrounding streets have witnessed as well as the 1910 Mexican Revolution against Porfirio Diaz and the different social and artistic expressions that were developed during the twentieth century and many others that begin to bloom in XXI century.
Enrich your visit to the historic center with this experience that will bring you closer to the details of the history of this great city, save time searching or deciding where to go with the wise counsel of our local guides who will recommend where to eat, where to go out and have fun, where to shop, or even where not to go, and so after a three-hour guided tour you can continue your journey with more confidence independently or perhaps with new friends you met on this tour.
